Cryolipolysis, or so-called, CoolSculpting is a very commonly performed procedure for non-invasive treatment of unwanted fat underneath the skin. The procedure is based on the technique of selective freezing of the fat with the use of specific applicators that are applied to the areas that need to be treated for a specific time. After the fat is frozen, the body’s own defense system is responsible for removing the dead fat cells.
Although most people have a decent outcome after a few treatments but some patients suffer from the adverse outcomes of Cryolipolysis.
Some of the reported complications of this technology are Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasis (PAH), skin indentations, skin discoloration and skin atrophy (skin thinning)
Dr Khan is an expert in Revision Surgeries and has treated a fair number of complications in patients who suffered the adverse outcomes of Cryolipolysis including but not limited to PAH.
