Facial Rejuveation in Men as seen on abc news performed by Dr Khan

Although many doctors, cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists have their own ways of addressing a patient’s aesthetic concerns, Dr Misbah Khan has a unique way of approaching skin aging and turning back the hands of time resulting in a look that will make you look and feel younger for your age. Her technique involves facial rejuvenation in a rather 3-Dimensional fashion addressing all aspects of skin aging from inside out. Dr Khan has expertise in facial rejuvenation for men as well as for women, as both genders have different facial features that are specific to their age groups and needs.

One of the earliest signs of aging that starts in early to mid thirties is the deepening and darkening of the circles and grooves underneath the eyes followed by deepening of the smile lines. The horizontal lines on the forehead and on the outer corners of the eyes start to take affect especially when a person makes an expression. This heaviness of the forehead skin can give an impression that one is tired or lacks sleep. Overtime the smile lines get coarser and one starts to get deep lines on the chin areas. Thinning of the upper lip is followed by the thinning of the lower lip. These changes are also accompanied by loss of skin glow, increased number of skin pores especially in the central part of the face and nose. Fine lines and wrinkles start to appear on the cheeks and under the eyes. Some people get brown as well as rough spots on the face, hands and arms. These changes in a person’s face and the other sun exposed parts of the body are due to several factors, for example, cumulative sunlight exposure over decades, fair skin type, smoking, hormonal changes such as pregnancy and gravity, facial volume loss due to loss of skin hydration and muscle mass as well as underlying bone loss, to name a few.

These early signs of aging can be progressive leading to coarser, rather deeper lines and wrinkles that can make a person look tired, sleepy and older than their actual age.

Dr Khan recommends all her patients to take care of their skin just like they would care for their health overall and seek advice for signs of aging early on. Dr Khan will suggest a skin care regimen for each of her patients on an individual basis.

Step 1: Mild to Moderate Facial Rejuvenation

For patients who desire a quick rather less intense improvement in their facial skin texture, acne marks, slight discoloration and oily skin, Dr Khan recommends a treatment plan that includes gentle facials, extractions of pores and black heads, mild to moderate intensity chemical peels and facial masks with Vit C and oxygen.

These treatments although, modest in efficacy, can provide immediate skin rejuvenation. These results can last 3-4 months. Repeat treatments are required to maintain the desired results

Step 2: Moderate to Advanced Facial Rejuvenation (BFF Module)

For patients desiring a rather moderate to advanced degree of improvement in their skin health and those who wish to make their face their very own BFF, Dr Misbah Khan offers a 3-dimensional facial rejuvenation package that’s basically called BFF! (aka, Botox, Fillers and Fraxel)

Botox® and other neurotoxins:

Neurotoxins like Botox®, Dysport® and recently FAD approved Xeomin® are among the most commonly used substances used for diminishing lines and wrinkles that are created as a result of a certain facial expression, such as frown lines (11’s in between the eyebrows) forehead lines and lines around the eyes, so called crows feet. Botox® can also be used to maintain the disappearance of expression lines for indefinite period of time.

Fillers

Soft tissue fillers are FDA-approved substances that are very commonly employed for treating fine lines, wrinkles and for volume restoration on face and hands. Dr Misbah Khan offers her patients several different soft tissue filler options in order to provide the best possible results for their individual needs, including:

  • Perlane
  • Juvederm
  • Radiesse
  • Restylane
  • Sculptra
FRACTIONAL LASERS

FRAXEL ALONE AND IN COMBINATION WITH FRACTIONAL CARBON DIOXIDE LASERFraxel is a true nonsurgical alternative to more invasive surgical and resurfacing procedures, as it significantly reduces the risks and recovery time associated with other resurfacing procedures.

Fraxel treatment takes about 30 to 45 minutes to perform, and is done at Dr Khan’s office.
